Product Description There was something very special and beautiful about women in the early- to mid-20th century. The way they dressed was elegant and the way they wore their hair was feminine. This book shows how to create so many of those hairstyles by taking hairstyles from the 1930s, 40s, 50s, and 60s and breaking them down into simple, easy-to-follow instructions. It uses brand new photographs and detailed directions. Not only a manual, it is also fun to read. The Finished Styles chapter of the book contains coffee table book quality images of models with their finished hairstyles. Sprinkled in introductions and throughout the book are interesting facts about the history of hairstyling, origins of styles, and information about starlets and performers who made the styles popular. This 200-page full-color book has 6 main chapters. The book begins with the basics of styling and works its way back to advanced techniques. It also provides information on makeup, nails, and accessories for a finished look.

Beautiful September 6, 2010 Eri I have been searching for a book like this for awhile. I was amazed at the step by step detail in this book with pics :) Shipping said it wouldn't arrive for 3-4 weeks, but it was at my door in a matter of days. Very pleased with the item and seller! Only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because it is a paperback. Hard to keep book open when you are trying to do your hair lol
good book August 23, 2010 stephaniepod A good book for info on retro hairstyles, Some hairstyles are a bit too retro for everyday wear but the tips on usuing tongs ect to create the vintage look are very helpful!

Rollergirl Pin-ups LOVE this book August 17, 2010 Ruby Triper Used this book for a rollergirl pin-up photoshoot in NOLA and everyone raved over it. It has great step by step instructions that can be followed easily not only by a professional stylest, but also by the general public. Great for examples and instruction. Teachs how to actually DO hair, not just flat iron it and go.
User Friendly Vintage Hairstylyes August 3, 2010 JD Great Book! Easy to follow the instructions! Lots of step by step pictures! I have no background in hairstyling, but this book has allowed me to do more than just curl my hair or tie it up in a bun. I would recommend to anyone who is looking to try something different with their daily or evening hairstyles! It is very user friendly!
